Description:
Tasmanian Heritage Traditional Camembert is a time-honoured creamy style camembert with a rich earthy flavour and aroma which is enhanced as the cheese matures.
When young Traditional Camembert can be quite crumbly and relatively hard, however its flavour is milky and lactic sweet with just a hint of earthiness. Over time as the cheese ripens and matures the flavours will become more pronounced, but not pungent and its character will become stronger in flavour and its centre will ooze.
Suggested Accompaniment:
Tasmanian Heritage Traditional Camembert should be enjoyed the traditional way – atop thick slices of crusty baguette. For a more decadent flavour add quince paste or cranberry sauce.
General Serving/ Storage comments:
To allow for optimal flavour and enjoyment, it is recommended that the cheese is removed from the fridge 60 minutes before serving. This time may vary depending on the temperature and humidity of the day. Once opened, wrap any remaining cheese in the original packaging to maintain optimum quality. Always serve cheese when it is most ripe (ie. as close to its best before date as possible) to ensure a full flavour and optimum taste. If the cheese is unripe, it should be left in the refrigerator to mature.
